30 Years of UNI – Proven Technology for Conservatories and Individual Sun Shading Solutions
Some solutions last because they simply work.
The first UNI series was developed in 1996. In 2026, we are celebrating 30 years of UNI. A lot has changed in sun shading and building automation over these three decades – but the fundamental requirements for reliable sun shading control have remained the same.
This is exactly where the strength of the UNI 12 and UNI 22 lies: they combine the functions required for automatic sun shading control in one clear and practical solution.
One Control, Many Possibilities
The UNI 12 controls one sun shading circuit, while the UNI 22 controls two separate circuits. Depending on the application, sensors for light, wind, rain/frost and temperature can be integrated.
This allows the sun shading system to respond automatically to changing weather conditions. Timer functions, individually adjustable thresholds and delay times provide additional flexibility. The control is operated directly via large buttons and a clear text display.
Especially for conservatories and smaller sun shading projects, the UNI provides a compact solution that brings all essential functions together in one central control.
Proven Technology for Different Requirements
Conservatories

Sun, wind, rain and temperature can all be taken into account when controlling the sun shading system. The UNI therefore combines important functions for the automatic shading of a conservatory in a single control.
Venetian Blinds

An adjustable reversing pulse allows the slats to be automatically aligned after movement. In addition, the push-button function enables precise positioning and adjustment of the slat angle.
Smart-Home

Proven technology and modern operation do not have to be mutually exclusive. Via the external push-button inputs and a suitable Smart Home integration, operation via smartphone or tablet can also be implemented.
1996 – 2026: 30 Years of UNI. Proven Technology That Still Delivers.
Since the first UNI series was developed in 1996, bus systems, networking and Smart Home solutions have become an integral part of modern building automation. But not every application requires a complex control system. Especially for conservatories and smaller sun shading projects, other factors are often more important: reliable automatic control, the relevant sensor functions and simple operation. The fact that the UNI controls are still part of our product range after 30 years shows just how durable a well-designed control concept can be. And thanks to the existing push-button inputs, this proven control technology can be combined with modern operating concepts whenever required.
