BMS & AV Integration

A Building Management System (BMS) is the central nerve system of modern buildings, automating and controlling various systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and shading devices. It ensures optimal energy management, comfort, and operational efficiency. With growing focus on smart buildings, integrating shading devices into BMS has become crucial for achieving enhanced energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Vestamatic’s products are compatible with modern IoT technologies, smart building requirements, and offer seamless integration of shading and automation solutions.

Protocols in Shading Automation

Our motors and control systems use open communication standards and can be programmed and controlled through BMS or third-party automation. Communication protocols such as KNX, Modbus, LONWORKS and BACnet play a significant role in integrating shading devices into BMS. These standardised protocols enable seamless interaction between shading devices and other building systems.

SMI

Standard Motor Interface (SMI) motors from Vestamatic allow precise control and monitoring of shading systems within BMS, providing real-time feedback and fault detection.

Modbus

Modbus-enabled blinds can communicate with other BMS-controlled devices, offering synchronized control for HVAC and lighting.

KNX

KNX is a standardized protocol widely used for building automation, allowing seamless control of HVAC, lighting, and shading systems within a BMS.

BACnet

BACnet is an open protocol that facilitates communication between BMS and different building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and shading, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.

LONWORKS

LONWORKS enables decentralised building control, allowing shading, lighting, and HVAC systems to communicate efficiently in larger, complex installations.

AV

AV integration within BMS allows seamless control of shading, lighting, and audio-visual systems for optimized environments, particularly in conference rooms and smart offices.

We design and manufacture shading motors and controls in-house, providing seamless integration with BMS systems. Our solutions offer cross-platform compatibility, facilitating the communication between various protocols.
